The most common style of acoustic guitar pickup is the under the saddle piezo. This works well in high volume feedback prone environments, but is not the best choice for authentic acoustic tone.
In recent years, we have seen new pickup designs that are doing a much better job of replicating the acoustic tone of your guitar. With few exceptions, these better sounding pickups are more prone to feedback, That is just the nature of the beast. That said, there are some great blend able systems where you have both an under the saddle piezo pickup and a second more accurate pickup that can be mixed together to get the best possible tone at a given volume level. With a system like this, you can bring up the volume of the main pickup until you start to have feedback or get muddy, then back off a bit and bring up the under saddle pickup for more volume and clarity.
We are always happy to discuss pickup options with you. Once you decide on a system that will work for you, we can proceed with the install.
